Intermediate GRTMPS: Relationships

In this course we will deal in depth with various modeling relationships common to GRTMPS. These relationships include those between: streams (ratios, percentages, groupings, interactions, integer controls for logic and discrete values), locations (multi-location and transportation modeling), periods (multi-period and inventory modeling), the model and the matrix (LP matrix and solution structure), and finally current and future plant configurations (capital investment modeling).

  • Ratios and Averages in Purchases / Sales
  • Relating Price to Quality
  • Local Optima
  • Process Unit Operating Parameters - same values on multiple operations
  • Blending - multi-product specitions, non-linear blending
  • Mixed Integer Programming
  • Transportation
  • Block Operations
  • Multiple Cases / Workflow

Topics and timing will vary depending on the experience level of the participants.

Course length: 2 1/2 days

The course includes hands-on exercises so students must bring a laptop computer with GRTMPS already installed. Students may use either spreadsheet or database models.

Who Should Attend

This course is intended for GRTMPS users who are already comfortable with the basics of editing data, setting off runs and finding information in the output files - and want to move into some more challenging modelling issues.  (If you are not there yet, please sign up for the Basic Course).
