Refining Operations Scheduling System H/ROSS is a modular decision support system designed to provide computer aid to process plant planners and schedulers. H/ROSS combines a set of independent modules into a complete, customized system with a common, easy-to-use Windows-based manager. H/ROSS defines a refinery schedule as a day-to-day operating plan that coordinates and validates feedstock shipping schedules, product lifting schedule, and maintenance schedules, while aiming to meet the objectives and optimal operation forecast determined by management. The scheduling process involves developing a detailed material balance to ensure that tank levels are maintained, and unit operations are adequately supplied with feed stocks. Schedulers using H/ROSS can efficiently and resourcefully:
Create initial working refinery schedules with visual schematic displays of tanks and units operation over time. Make timely scheduling changes as necessary for response to abrupt unscheduled events or take advantage of economic opportunities. Analyze alternative plans, sensitivities, or deviations from the planned schedule utilizing H/ROSS's visual early warning capability. Develop daily operating plans which will help meet the longer range objectives. Related topics: Return to the top of page. For more information about Haverly Systems, click here.
